Vinyasa Flow Yoga
My first Yoga class was at Lakeland Community College where I ended up taking Iyengar Yoga as a college credit in the summer of 2012 under the guidance of Sherri Mills. As a devoted weight lifter at the time, I felt the benefits of the tension releasing methods immediately and knew that there was some kind of magic going on.
Since then I slowly developed more and more Yoga into my weekly routine going from a 1 day a week practice to 5-7 days a week practice. I’m always learning and open to new styles of Yoga and movement. I mainly practice from the original styles of India, Iyengar Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga and have been blessed to practice under many great and devoted teachers such as Karen Allgire and Marque Garaux. As a student I have adopted the wisdom of Bruce Lee “Absorb what is useful, discard what is useless and add what is uniquely your own.”
My love for Yoga and healing has lead me to studying to become a Physical Therapy Assistant at KSUA. I’m currently looking to graduate in December of 2017 and I am excited to make strides in alternative approaches to healing within the Medical and Physical Therapy fields.
Vinyasa yoga is a practice of sequencing your movement with the flow of your breath. In this class you will focus on holding various yoga poses, fine tuning breath work and honing in on your dristi or gaze point. This class is for those looking for a more physical yoga practice.
